Open House for Artist-in Residence Tyler Morgan
Saturday December 21, 2019 2-5pm @BoxoPROJECTS

During his time at Boxo, Tyler Morgan has continued an exploration into understanding his place in nature. His work investigates a state of heightened sensitivity which allows external forces to be perceived and to guide one toward a universal siting. This investigation engages with the surroundings through forms of movement, but also through stillness, to recognize, appreciate and interpret stimulii for further exploration.
For this open house, Tyler will present an installation that synthesizes video, sound, light, natural objects and scents.

Through his artwork, Tyler Morgan repositions perspectives through the tweaking of subject and content within cultural, political and environmental narratives. Each aspect of his work navigates and connects research and the use of natural elements in order to broaden perspectives, spur discussion and effect change.

Tyler is based in New York and Connecticut and received a MFA in Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Residencies include: The Arctic Circle Residency, CAMP, Ecoacoustics in Aulus-Les-Bains, France, American Academy in Rome and School of Visual Arts in New York.
