Goat presents The Lazarus Effect, featuring the work of Los Angeles and Mojave-based artist Justin Moore and the Palm Springs-based Farout Collective who independently negotiate the practice of reuse and repurposing. Justin Moore will exhibit large-scale cutouts re-constructed from fragments of discarded photographic images. He creates fragmented forms suspended in visual space, causing the viewer to focus on both what is and what is not there. Justin has also created a regenerative earthwork related to the corner window at Goat Gallery.

The Farout Collective works with recycled paper pulp to create ambiguous forms with intricate and detailed surfaces that evoke the concept of erosion. Molded from found objects and weighted in a way that allows tenuous balance, the forms are evocative of space and alien correspondence. In addition to works in the gallery, Farout Collective has created a large-scale installation on land adjacent to the exhibition space.

Official opening 11/122 1-4 pm at Moon Cocoon — in a sandy galaxy outside the grid, atmospheric astral bodies rubbing off on the prototype of a lunar dwelling space wrapping itself around you, specks of warm pink and burnt gold, like looking at the evening sun behind closed eyelids
