Eliza Kentridge was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, where she studied english literature at the University of the Witwaterstrand. Eliza then worked for an anti-apartheid educational organization before moving to the UK. There, she took up drawing and printmaking at Oxford Polytechnic before moving to Wivenhoe where she currently resides and works in her studio.
