@BoxoHOUSE, Joshua Tree

Saturday June 4, 2016
5 – 7pm, talk at 5.30pm

Antoine Vigne has been in residence at BoxoHOUSE for the past few weeks, working on his third novel (being written in French). The story revolves around a main character, Juan Montalbán, who becomes obsessed with the search for an unaccounted migrant from Honduras and teams up with the mother to try to find her. Juan is himself a migrant, having been brought by his parents as a child from Mexico and he has a dream: to become an astronomer. The desert serves as a backdrop for the novel and as a physical and metaphorical space for the the main character’s inner search.

The talk is aimed at bringing to light the process of working on a story that has social, political and poetic elements. Antoine will also address another book which he published a few years ago about the cosmos, and the notion of the infinite through the lens of art and literature (Le livre de l’espace, Art et littérature de l’infini, Editions Courtes et Longues, 2014)
